Sirtris Resveratrol  

Sirtris Resveratrol refers to Sirtris Pharmaceuticals, their headquaders are located at Cambridge, Massachusetts, U.S.A, is the architect or the biopharmaceutical company that researching, discovering and developing small drugs typically taken orally which have healing properties to combat against disease such as aging, including metabolic diseases such as Type 2 Diabetes. Sirtris have developed drugs that focus on certain beneficial health effects of calorie restriction, without requiring a change in eating habits, by activation of sirtuins.

One of their most recent discoveries is the enzymes that control the aging process which will have a major impact on cardiovascular disease, alzhiemer, cancer, diabetes, obesity to name a few. Resveratrol is part of those major discoveries by Sirtris. Human clinical trial is already on the way and there are more specifics trial in on the planning stage. Those trials are based on great result from vivo and in vitro research based on model by laboratory mice.

SIRT1:  
Sirtris focuses on the study of the severn sirtuin family members. The most well studied of the seven enzymes is the SIRT1. There have been some major developments of therapeutic application of SIRT1 for the treatment of many diseases such as the one on Type 2 Diabetes that currently on human trial, which competed its phase 2 of which sirtris has a resveratrol proprietry formulation called SRT501. Resveratrol plays a major part on the Sirtris Advanced program for SIRT1 which has two leading potential products that is primarily focusing on the SIRT1 enzyme.

SRT2104:   
Sirtris has introduced their first new activator chemical compound of SIRT1, called SRT2104. SRT2104 is not related to resveratrol but claimed to be thousand times stronger then resveratrol. It has been on Phase I trial on healthy volunteers and it was found to be safe and have great tolerance levels. Sirtris is planned to launch the Phase IIa human trial of SRT2104 this year.
